FAQ

How does laser tattoo removal work?

Laser tattoo removal uses light beams that target and break down the ink particles in the tattoo, allowing your body to gradually absorb and eliminate them.

On average, how many treatments will I need for tattoo removal?

The number of treatments required varies depending on factors such as tattoo size, color, age, and skin type. Most clients require between 6 to 12 sessions for optimal results.

Who is and is not a good candidate for laser tattoo removal?

Most individuals can safely undergo laser tattoo removal; however, certain medical conditions, such as uncontrolled diabetes or epilepsy, may disqualify a person from treatment. It’s also important to wait until after you are no longer pregnant or nursing. Additionally, those with specific skin types or certain tattoo inks may require further assessment. A consultation with our Laser Tech is essential to determine your suitability for the procedure.

What should I do to prepare for my treatment?

To prepare for your treatment, avoid sun exposure and tanning for at least 4-6 weeks. Stay hydrated, skip blood-thinning medications like aspirin and ibuprofen for 48 hours, shave the treatment area and wear loose, comfortable clothing to your appointment.

Is laser tattoo removal a safe procedure?

Yes, laser tattoo removal is considered safe when performed by trained professionals. Advanced technology minimizes risks and maximizes effectiveness, but individual skin types may react differently.

What does the tattoo removal process feel like?

While discomfort levels vary from one individual to another, something to consider is one's pain tolerance and the location of the tattoo. Many describe the sensation during treatment as a moderate pinching or snapping. Most suggest that it is no more painful that receiving the tattoo, only the process is over much quicker.

How long will it take to see results after treatment?

Results typically begin to appear within a few weeks post-treatment as the ink starts to fade. Full fading may take several months, depending on the tattoo and individual factors.

What aftercare is required for the treated area?

After your treatment, keep the area clean and covered as directed. Apply the recommended ointment to promote healing, avoid sun exposure, and do not pick or scratch the treated area. Follow all specific aftercare instructions provided by your Laser Tech to ensure optimal healing.
